Patricia "Pat" Johnsen, 80,a former restaurateur, of Daytona Beach Shores passed away at Halifax Health Hospital after a brief illness. She was born and raised in England and came to the United States in 1956. She along with her husband John owned and operated Harbour Lights restaurant in Port Orange for 32 years. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church and on the Board of Directors for Children's Home Society for many years. Patricia "Pat" Johnsen, 80,a former restaurateur, of Daytona Beach Shores passed away at Halifax Health Hospital after a brief illness. She was born and raised in England and came to the United States in 1956. She along with her husband John owned and operated Harbour Lights restaurant in Port Orange for 32 years. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church and on the Board of Directors for Children's Home Society for many years. For 15 years she helped produce and direct Puttin' on The Ritz, a benefit for Children's Home Society. Pat was a member of the American Culinary Federation, Volusia County Chefs and Cooks Assoc. and a former member of the Halifax River Yacht Club. Over the years she has received many awards and accolades of which she was very proud; to include the Tip of the Toque award which was the first community service award ever given by the ACF honoring a citizen for outstanding volunteer work for children. She also received numerous awards for her involvement in Puttin' on the Ritz. Along with the Ritz Auxiliary she was awarded the Dave Thomas Child Advocacy of the year award for outstanding service to others and the FL Jaycee Outstanding Floridian Pioneer Award. She was honored when her restaurant was selected by the secret service to provide lunch for President Clinton when he was in town. Above all she was most proud of her two grandchildren, who she treasured and adored. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband John and brothers John and Peter Reynolds. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Susan Jane Varga and her husband Joseph of Port Orange, grandchildren Caitlin Patricia and Joseph Andrew Varga, stepdaughter Sheri Candeletta, and sister Janet Nero of Canada. The family will receive friends, Tuesday March 31, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd Port Orange. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Epiphany Catholic Church 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange.
